Consumed by grief and with tears pouring down her face, Rose McKay reached out her trembling hand to touch the portrait of her late husband, Sgt. 1st Class Joseph McKay, who was killed in Afghanistan last year. “That’s my Joseph,” she said as she ran her fingers across the canvas. “I’m so proud of him.”
